Have you ever been in low sec? - Yes, a lot.
Do you run missions or complexes in low sec? - I have done research/research missions in low sec. Never combat missions or complexes.
If so, what is the appeal for you? - Good research agent quality in lowsec, not very risky.
If not, why not? - With the risk that the combat missions have of being probed down, getting to the site, etc, you might as well go to nullsec.
Are rewards in low sec in line with the risk? - Besides research agents, there is nothing in lowsec that you can't get better rewards in nullsec for the risk factor, or slightly less rewards in highsec for almost no risk.
Is the risk in low sec over-stated? - Many lowsec systems/areas are almost dead with relatively no risk at all most of the time. Any system that has some kind of reward or reason for a lot of people to go there also has a higher concentration of pirates.
Would education from savvy players about how to mitigate risk in low sec encourage folks who didn't just want to AFK L4's to operate there? - Probably not, you might as well go to nullsec where it is safer with greater rewards, or have less risk and stay in highsec.
What is the number one change to low sec that would cause you to considering doing missions and complexes there? (Be realistic! "Kick the pirates out!" is humorous but not realistic. Smile) - I am not sure there is an answer to this question. Anything that would attract more carebears to lowsec would attract more pirates, so the end result might be the same. I think that if quality agents were spread out more evenly, and sent you to more random locations that could help, since pirates would have a harder time camping certain systems, making the system useless.
Do you believe it is possible to make low sec changes that would allow both pirates and carebears to co-exist profitably without crippling either's play style to extinction? Why or why not? - I think one way to attract carebears would be to spread the wealth / rewards out even enough so that people don't have to congregate too much in any one place or use certain entryways higher than others. This would allow for the mission runners/plexers to find pirate free systems with rewards, but also allow for roaming gangs to still find targets. Possibly reducing gate camps some because any single area wouldn't have a consolidation of wealth. |
